Three Ways To Wear A Scarf

If you want an easy outfit pick-me-up when you travel around, I recommend getting your hands on a really nice scarf.

I brought my  with me to Los Angeles to help get out of potential style ruts. Although I always try and pack well, nobody is safe from that moment when you look at your suitcase only to decide you packed all the wrong clothes. Fortunately for me, on this trip I ended up being very pleased with my packing decisions AND I had this lovely scarf  in my case too, which turned one outfit into three.

Today I would like to show you how to wear a scarf in three different ways as this is something I really love doing when travelling or at home in London.
The Turban
This is such an easy little trick and it always comes in handy when the sun is shining a little too hard and your head gets a little too hot. It is also good for those evenings when you aren’t sure what to wear, I think jeans + a tee-shirt + a scarf turban accessorised with a beautiful brooch are a great failsafe evening combination. Below I am at Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles enjoying the Art Deco interiors.

Bag Strap
So you only brought one handbag with you and you are bored to death? No problemo, simply turned your favourite scarf into a strap for it. You can make it as long or as short as you want and it really is the easiest thing to do. Here I am shopping on Melrose with my cool new bag strap.

!function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? ‘http’ : ‘https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + ‘://’ + ‘widgets.rewardstyle.com’ + ‘/js/shopthepost.js’;d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === ‘object’) if(d.readyState === ‘complete’) {window.__stp.init();}}(document, ‘script’, ‘shopthepost-script’);

If you have two scarves with you, you can also try this little trick.

Statement Necklace
This is one of my favourite styling tricks! So easy yet so cool. All you need is a scarf and your two hands! Basically if you know how to tie a knot, then you can feel like a DIY goddess and make yourself a necklace out of a scarf. After a long day, I tied my scarf into a necklace and went out for cocktails in Silver Lake.

Find out how to make your own scarf necklace in this olde YouTube tutorial I made (watch out: contains 2009 haircut)
