What I am wearing / Milking the nautical cow

The great thing about working from home is being able to see your friends (who also work from home) for an impromptu picnic in the middle of the week. For a couple of hours, the weather was actually on our side and we were able to sit in a little garden and chat about life, boys and the evils of the internet (I might actually dedicate a whole post to the evils of the internet - in the meantime, read this).

I really have to stop with the digressions. Having unearthed those navy H&M trousers, I am falling deeper and deeper into my usual springtime nautical look. It will get boring at some point, and if you remember well, it is not AT ALL what my plans for a spring wardrobe were. I wanted muted colours, looks like I might have got lost along the way. Fashion habits are hard to get out of.

Milking that nautical cow

No vintage at all in this outfit I am afraid, only old high street stuff (apart from the bow and brooch).

I am trying really hard to get out of the house this week, after having suffered from an acute case of hermititis lonesomis for a few weeks. Monday night, I went to see Monsters vs. Aliens at the IMAX, I felt like a child and wanted to clap everytime something was happening in the film. The 3D really is spectacular, and the animation close to perfection. It also made me want white hair really bad, but you can imagine that my hair would be a b**** to dye white (or cotton candy pink - my dream hair colour).

  1. Oh you look so cute! They're really nice photos too.

After reading that article on KoS the other day, I had some nasty comments about myself, on an anonymous Livejournal community! I mean really, if you're gonna say you find me annoying, say it to my face instead of cowardly. I was more disappointed and annoyed by it than upset. People wouldn't say that to anyone in real life so why say it online?!

  3. i like those blue shoes.

But, if the clothing isn't vintage, I make the photo look so, I found this yesterday. I don't know whether you know this: http://labs.wanokoto.jp/olds

  7. Freya - Thanks for the link, it is a fun one. If I want to make my photos look more vintage, I generally just use photoshop. But I am not desperate for all my photos to look old :-)

Carrie, Casey - We are ready to board that cruise ship together I think.

Helen - I completely agree, people would never come up to you in real life and insult you to your face, so I don't see why they feel they can do it online.

SKM - I really wish we could get together for lunch! I suppose skype dinner/breakfast is the next best thing till one of us travels across the world.

Emily - Let's hope so! I might end up being lazy in stripes till november!

  11. White hair would be great! Although I find that I am always dressing like a 60 year old woman, maybe that's just the next step.

  13. Fantastic photos. I love the nautical look as well, I always feel I over do it by going all sailoresque so often but I really can't help it.
I still havent seen Monsters vs. Aliens, I really want to, someone I know who saw it said it has a very Dr. Strangelove vibe to it which intrigues me.
I wish I could get my hair white... I still havent succedded.
