Back in August, when it was still bikini weather, I had the chance to chat to the high-priestess of swimwear and all around magician and self-esteem booster Heidi Gosman, co-founder of Heidi Klein. The brand, launched in 2002 by Heidi Gosman and Penny Klein is now a one-stop shop for all your holiday essentials. I live round the corner from their Westbourne Grove flagship and this is where I go when I need to dream about distant shores.
Heidi Klein gives back for Breast Cancer Awareness Month: the brand has teamed up with Breast Cancer Care to give a 20% donation from their Rio de Janeiro collection during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. All funds raised will help Breast Cancer Care offer support to the thousands of women waking up to the harsh reality of breast cancer every day.

August is a sacred month for me. I like to spend it in the South of France with my family. Do you have a “sacred time” or a special holiday you like to take every year?
I have a big family holiday each year but we go to difference destinations each time. This year we spent two weeks in Gotland, Sweden. Heaven.
I packed four bikinis, one swimsuit and two kaftans for a month in the countryside… What’s your packing style when it comes to swim and beachwear?
Keep it simple. Pack a few perfect fitting bikinis that you can mix and match, a few lightweight kaftans and cover ups, and some statement jewellery. I currently love the white oversized Pin Tuck Shirt right, which is a chic piece to wear with anything. An oversized beach bag and hat – I personally love the HK wide brimmed hat – are also holiday essentials for me.

Do you have any tips on how to best choose swimwear you could give my readers?
Make sure you try on a few styles, such as a bandeau, D-G ring top, triangle, or push-up top, and choose a style that fits perfectly to your body type. A good one-piece is also a strong statement this summer, as it elongates the female silhouette. Always pack a swimwear item that you feel confident in. If you feel confident, you will look gorgeous.
