Earlier this week, I received a mysterious flight case with my name on it. Inside it, a whole load of goodies including panda biscuits, a flower garland, chopsticks, perfect white socks and of course a couple pieces from Agyness Deyn's collection for Dr. Martens. You may remember when I visited the Dr. Martens factory a few years ago?
This is Agyness Deyn's second collection for the brand and while I am not all sold on celebrity collaborations generally, I don't really have a bad word against this one as the match is pretty spot on. Deyn is fun and fresh and she designed a range that's just like her... It's inspired by the Harajuku girls, girls with a unique style. I can see it being massively successful with the teens and younger crowds. I know I would have been all over this when I was 16. If like me you are far, far away from your teens, there are still quite a few pieces that will work in a more grown-up wardrobe. I am thinking of the heart sequin appliqué tee for example, which would look lovely with a simple boy cut suit, or the bow sandals which would look awesome with pretty much anything - even jammies.
Below are my favourites from the collection as well as the campaign video filmed in SF.
