I am pretty sure you are all familiar with Emilie François’ little label Sessun, after 15 years of admiring her lovely designs everywhere from Paris to NY. The aesthetic of the SS13 collection is in keeping with the usual brand’s look: retro, feminine and generally lovely.
Orla Kiely fills me with joy. To tell you the truth, the only thing I miss now that I made the decision to not attend London Fashion Week anymore is the Orla Kiely presentations. The prints of their Resort 2013 collection are inspired by the seaside and the hues are a mix of pastels and dark metallics.
Here comes a new challenger! I wasn’t familiar with South Korean brand Morine Compte Marant, but I am now going to keep an eye on it. Morine Kim graduated from Studio Berçot in Paris and then went on to work for Le Printemps as a stylist for a few years before returning to Korean. She started Morine Compte Marant as a way to showcase her new found Parisian inspiration.
