September beauty is still very much geared towards Summer skin and prolonging the benefits of holiday glow while repairing sun, sea and pool damage. I also slowly start wearing make-up again and it is a good time to experiment with a new lip colour, I find…

Ojon Damage Reverse Serum – I bought this during a trip to Boots last week. I was looking for make-up wipes and got sidetracked. It happens, OK? Anyway, I used to be really into their hair oil and then moved on to pastures new. Still, my local boots had the complete Ojon range, including their Combi-wash (which I am yet to try) and so I figured it would be rude not to. I’ve been using the Damage Reverse Serum for a week now and I am already seeing results. My hair is bleached at the ends and very dry + I spent the Summer swimming every day which means it is now also damaged by chlorine: basically the serum had its work cut out. It delivered beyond what I thought it would so this gets a mega thumbs up from me.
Olay Essentials Glow Perfectors BB Cream – I did say in a previous post this month I would let you know how I get on with this BB Cream once I test it for a while. Well, now I can tell you: I LOVE IT. It is light, offering great coverage without being too intense like other BB Creams. This still shows the texture of your skin, merely keeping everything unified. Exactly what I look for in a foundation or BB Cream, especially this time of year. It is also very moisturising which is great for me (dry hair, dry skin) as my skin is particularly parched after the Summer and the shock of city life.
Invisibobble Traceless Hair Ring – OMG this has changed my life. Seriously. My hair is very thick and heavy, so I get headaches from the tension whenever I tie it up. With these: no more. For that reason alone, I want to marry an invisibobble. Also they look like something out of my formative years (that’s the 80s people) so I have to get behind the concept.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz – So I wrote about this before, but I realised how much I loved it after trying a different brand of brow pencil and… well let’s just say the other brand didn’t quite work out for me. I like a defined brow and we all have small gaps to fill, but I am still not 100% behind the whole massive eye slugs trend. In fact I am like 0.0001% behind it and that’s just because I quite like slugs. This is the best eyebrow pencil on the market if you like natural results. That’s all I can say.
Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick (Empress) – After trying Lime Crime’s Velvetine this Summer, I got really into the gloss to matte lipsticks out there. Lime Crime’s failed to convince though, despite the beautiful colour, it didn’t have much staying power and dried my lips quite a bit. Hourglass’ version of a matte gloss is much better, lasts longer and doesn’t dry my lips. I do have to re-apply after eating, but I could easily get by with a simple touch-up. Empress is a deep, dusty rose, I call it a “gothic nude“. It is a little deeper and more dramatic than your usual nude, but still a great day time / everyday option.
Biocyte Hyaluronic Fluid – As far as anti-ageing skincare goes, the product of the moment is hyaluronic acid. Look at your anti-ageing cream, or age prevention product and you will see it carries a small dose of this acid. I find that using pure hyaluronic fluid as a serum under my moisturiser (day and night) is very efficient. It is working wonders on very fine lines and other expression wrinkles (hello forehead). This is definitely a star product if you are in your early to mid-thirties and facing first signs of ageing.
