It's been a while since I last posted something about childrenswear, but I guess nothing had really caught my eye. Until now that it: actress and model Elisa Sednaoui just launched a mother/daughter Summer capsule collection in collaboration with yoox.com. She delved deep into her Egyptian heritage to create the collection and the pieces are heavily influenced by local textile traditions.
But Elisa isn't just a pretty face, she is also the founder of the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation, a Charitable Incorporated Organization in support of creativity and cultural exchange around the world. The first project in Luxor debuted in April with a series of interactive creative music improvisation and songwriting workshops for children in collaboration with MIMA Music. The second project will take place in Italy and aims to inspire the next generation of Italian youth by promoting creativity and positive change. The proceeds from the sale of the Little A Like collection will go to the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation.
“I am very happy to collaborate with yoox.com on such a wonderful initiative, that gives us the opportunity to directly benefit the children of Egypt and Italy. The collection, made in Italy and inspired by Egypt's traditional textile patterns, represents me perfectly as I am a product of both countries.”
I guess I better start shopping for Mini's Summer wardrobe, right?
