Back in January 2012, I received a mysterious email from Les Editions de la Martinière, asking me if I wanted to write a book for them. You can imagine it took me about 10 seconds to pinch myself and then a further 2 to reply “oui, bien sur“. For a first book, a commission was a great exercise. It made me feel more confident about my writing and allowed me to see how the publishing world works. The idea for the book came from Nathalie Colin, the Creative Director of Swarovski, who wanted to showcase her vision of the brand through strong visuals and with the right tone of voice (that would be me).
Working with a collection of images and numerous themes (girls having fun, work, wedding, travel etc) I wrote stories and tips to help women style themselves with jewellery.
And then one day in November, as if by magic, I found myself with a copy of my very first book in my hands.
