What I Wore – MiH Jeans “The Jane” (Part 1)

I like nothing quite as much as a good style challenge, especially when it involves denim. You see, despite what I like to make you believe on this blog, I spend most of my life wearing jeans. Actually scratch that, I think you’ve seen more than enough outfit posts featuring me in jeans to know full well they are pretty much my number one wardrobe staple (aren’t they everyone’s?). Sometimes I think I should rename this blog Mademoiselle Jeanbot, but it doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.
The thing is though when I say “jeans” what I really mean is “skinny jeans” as I find it very difficult to try any other shape. So when I met up with lovely Lara from MiH Jeans, I told her I would quite like to show you how I would wear denim shapes that are a little trickier for my body shape (I am 5’7 and a size uk 12/14). She lend me three pairs of jeans from the MiH collection for me to try and style.
First up is The Jane described on the site as a mid-rise, cropped leg with a slightly 60s look. Of course I was sold straight away, I love the distressed Aged Cali wash and the cut is really unusual (for me anyway) + it looked great on the model so how can it go wrong, right? WELL… Let’s put it this way: I will never be able to wear them with flat shoes as dressed down they just look like mum jeans on me. And you know what’s worse than mum jeans? A mum in mum jeans. So basically my dreams of wearing these jeans in a Jane Birkin type sloucheroo evaporated and instead I went for dressy. And this worked. The fit is nicer than boyfriend jeans on me and I love them with simple black stilettos and a cropped jacket. Results!
I am wearing: MiH Jeans “The Jane”, Pablo by Gérard Darel jacket, Acne Tee-shirt, Christopher Kane clutch, Aldo shoes, necklace Gas Bijoux (shop the look below)
