I don’t think I’ve spent more than £50 on jeans for quite some time. I remember the days of forking out way into three figures for everything from Evisu’s to Dior jeans. But the rise of Swedish brands like Cheap Monday and Dr. Denim made that kind of spending seem downright frivolous.
I have countless pairs of both and I love them, in fact I’m rarely seen out of them. Skinny fit jeans don’t need expert tailoring or a plethora of different cuts, just a clever blend of cotton and lycra or elastane and you’re good to go right?
Recently I got some AG Adriano Goldschmeid jeans. I’ve had a couple of pairs in the past. They were bootleg…I know right?! Well, it was a long time ago. It seems I had forgotten just what expensive jeans really felt like. I went for the Dylan which is a slim cut jean, slim but not figure hugging. Skinny jeans can’t be around forever, and for a true gentleman, the cut and tailoring, even of jeans, shouldn’t be forgotten.
I’ll still wear my Swedish jeans brands, and you should too. Perhaps like Sweden’s other great export IKEA, those jeans are more like the flatpack furniture. But there’s a place for flatpack in everyone’s lives. You just wouldn’t want that to be the only thing you have, right? Anyway – the most important thing about any pair of jeans is what your butt looks like – check out Dr. Handsome’s moneymaker… see? These jeans are worth every penny!
Even Spaghetti can’t take her eyes off it…
Awwww Yeah.
