London Fashion Week - Backstage at Bora Aksu

Words and photographs - Catherine Sprunt

Backstage at Bora Aksu, Toni & Guy stylists were teasing models' ponytails into impossibly large buns fixed atop their heads, paired with perfect Gothic inspired make-up – dark lips and winged eyeliner.

The clothes featured a palette of reds, blacks and greys: an unusual choice for spring/summer pieces. The collection seemed to me to be fairly workwear inspired, with high collars and neat tailoring, but sheer panelling and cutout details keeping it sexy, and an abundance of ruffles maintaining a flirty, feminine feel. Despite a leaning towards menswear, with the occasional silky necktie, the collection featured a large number of intricate dresses celebrating the female figure with ruffles in all the right places and a nod to the futuristic trend.
