Even though I love Halloween & generally enjoy going out with my friends to celebrate, sometimes, it is nice to stay at home. Cook yourself a special Halloween dinner, invite some friends around, decorate your house & watch some films. Here are ten perfect Halloween movies as recommended by me!

A growing life form takes over a city eating everything on its way. The 1988 version of The Blob is cheesy & creepy at the same time. Another film I discovered with my dad when I was 10. Shaped my taste for horror movies along with a few others that are not in this list.
Two teenage girls are captured by psychopaths. First film by Wes Craven & a wonder of claustrophobic atmosphere.

For a "recovered" goth, there are a lot of classic horror movies I haven't seen! Candyman's awesome though, I was the antagonistic kid at school who would do the whole repeating his name in front of the bathroom mirror thing to scare my friends!
ReplyDeleteFun trivia on the "Last House on the Left": It was actually an interpretation and inspired by Ingmar Bergman's "The Virgin Spring."
ReplyDeleteLHotL is also one of the most horrifying films I've ever seen-- I had to stop it 5 minutes from the end, and haven't watched it since. (And coming from a girl who works at a HORROR FILM FESTIVAL, that's saying a lot!)

ReplyDeleteHalloween was set in my hometown--John Carpenter is from there. It was so fun to watch the movie and hear the street that I was on being called out, etc..
