Monsieur Robot – Mind The Gap

The glorious London Underground is 150 years old this year. Love it or hate it, it’s an integral part of our everyday lives. Sure, it might seem like you wait on the platform for 150 years for a train every morning or the armpit you get your face pushed into, when you finally do get on the train, hasn’t been washed in 150 years, but there’s a lot more to the Undergound than just that. Take Misha Black’s 1978 textile design that upholstered the Distict Line seats for many years for example. Iconic in its garish tones and still somehow intrinsically British. Nike are celebrating The Underground’s anniversary with 2 limited edition Nike styles, the Air Max 90 and the Air Max 1’s that feature Black’s design rendered not in the original moquette but in jacquard. The tube logo even graces the shoes tongue.

Nike 150 Underground are available from Dover Street Market and Foot Patrol
