It’s rare that I feel passionately patriotic but the Dr Martens Made In England range has a curious effect on me. There aren’t many brands that traverse the line between something classically British and genuinely fashionable. Dr Martens manages to maintain this standing with their Made In England range which marries the classic shoe with heritage fabrics like Harris tweed and fine silks made by Stephen Walters and Sons ( a brand that dates back to the 18th century). By reappropriating fabrics that are more commonly associated with tailoring and menswear accessories Dr Martens have breathed new life into shoes that have been around since the 1970’s, kicking and stomping their way through cultural movements while cementing its place in fashion history.
