The Best Pastel Biker Jackets For AW13

Pastel Biker Jacket

Milkshake hues took over the runways for Autumn-Winter 13, a welcome respite from the usual black. Carven, Antipodium, JW Anderson, Simone Rocha, Richard Nicoll all featured pastels quite heavily in their collections. This is great news as it means our Spring-Summer wardrobes will get a longer shelf life AND it also means you can have fun with outerwear. Throw away those drab brown and grey coats and embrace a bit of colour! While it won’t be proper coat weather for another few months, we are about to enter what I like to call Prime Biker Jacket Season.

You see, there are only about two windows to wear biker jackets: mid-September till late October and then mid-April till about late May before and after it is either too cold or too hot. I still wear my biker jackets all Winter, I just use them as layers under my coat. My main issue with biker jackets is that I can’t resist them. As a result, I have a few at home, all serving different purposes: there is the soft, light cropped one for the evening, the heavier vintage one for everyday and my Acne shearling for colder days (although that is more of an aviator jacket so does it really count?).

The other day, browsing asos, I found myself stuck in a vortex of beautiful pastel biker jackets – I blame Hide for that – and since then I haven’t been able to stop looking. So I thought I would do a little round up of pastel bikers that you can buy now. Because if you don’t, I will.
