Remember, remember, the 16th of October… when I spent a wonderful night at the Plaza Athénée in Paris? Well I wasn’t just there to prance around in my robe and slippers, believe it or not I was there to work. More specifically I was invited to attend the 2012 edition of the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize, a gift €30.000 that goes to a young fashion designer, as well as the opportunity to stay in one of the Dorchester Collection hotels in Paris or Milan during Fashion Week. Not bad, uh?
This year, the competition was tough and I wouldn’t have wanted to be in the judges shoes as all the designers were so, so talented. Speaking of the judges, the panel was pretty impressive and included Chantal Thomass – an amazing lady and one of my favourite designers – as well as Lorenz Baumer, Bruno Frisoni, Alexandra Golovanoff, Harumi Klossowska De Rola, Jean-Jacques Picart, Nathalie Rykiel, Elizabeth Saltzman and Kenzo Takada.
The designers competing for the prize were Calla (I was rooting for her and her collection of super pretty dresses), IRM Design, Les Garçons Paris (I am pretty sure Monsieur Robot would love their stuff), Quentin Veron and Augustin Teboul (who won the prize!).

My seat was wonderful to actually watch the show but so near it was difficult to take photographs, so details from the back became my “thing” that night…
