#LFW Illustrated Highlights – Mulberry

Mulberry is one of the shows I look forward to the most, season after season. Not only are the clothes ravishing (do I even need to mention the bags?) but the show venue is always decked out in the most amusing way.

This season, Creative Director Emma Hill found inspiration in Maurice Sendak’s children’s classic Where the Wild Things Are. Sure enough, a whole collection taking its roots in one of my favourite  childhood reads was going to strike a chord.
I said it here before and I will say it again, I love a playful collection and Mulberry does it so well. The label is so fun and filled with childlike energy but the clothes remain grown-up and sophisticated. It took me a long time to understand I didn’t have to dress like a toddler at a birthday party to feel connected to my inner Peter Pan and I think brands like Mulberry (or Luella *sobs*) played a big part in my growing up process…
So thank you Mulberry for a wonderful collection and *tiny violin* for holding my hand as I get to grips with my thirty-something style.
