Do you remember when I went to Oslo Fashion Week to see the Fam Irvoll show? Do you remember how I said I wished shows were more like that in London during Fashion Week? Well, as it turns out a couple of genies were in the bottle I was stroking then and my wishes were granted. Ed Meadham and Ben Kirchoff, masters of madness and fun delivered a spectacular show.
From Courtney Love clones to Marie-Antoinette on acid to tiny ballerinas, the collection felt like a celebration of women and freedom. Out of trends and out of the serious fashion corset, Meadham Kirchoff delivered a real show and beautiful clothes. Of course, most of the collection is to be taken with a pinch of salt, and when time comes to actually be stocked in stores I am sure only the tamer pieces will be represented, but to me a show like this is what London Fashion Week is about.
