I am gutted I had to give the Spijkers show a miss as they are one of my favourite design duos! However, Catherine went there and is giving you the low-down.

Spijkers en Spijkers is the brainchild of twins Truus and Riet, whose designs are as charming and cool as they are.
Backstage they took the time to speak to everyone, pose for numerous photos and
answer countless questions, all while directing their cast of models, most of
whom they brought with them “on tour” from their last show in Amsterdam. The twins wore Spijkers en Spijkers
pantsuits from their SS10 collection, with Spijkers en Spijkers for Specsavers
glasses that, unfortunately, arrived too late for the models to wear them on
the catwalk.
Despite a large amount of
lace detailing and floral prints, the menswear aesthetic in the Spijkers en
Spijkers collection is dominant, with sharp tailoring and perfect blazers,
jumpsuits and pantsuits, oversized pockets and clean lines.
Although the pieces are very
intricate, they still seem easy to wear, a quality that is important to the
laid back Spijkers sisters.
Make-up was neutral with
strong brows and a pink lip, and hair was perfectly curled and then brushed out
to create tousled volume in contrast to the sleek lines of the clothes.
