Don't try this at home kids!

After all your comments about cutting my hair myself last time, and how good it looked, I thought this time I would show you how sometimes, hair experiments go wrong. I was missing my fringe so after thinking about it for a bit, I decided this morning it was time to cut it again. The problem is, morning brain & impulsive hair decisions don't really mix so well and I ended up with a Girl Interrupted situation. I look like a 5 year old wearing make up.

I used to have a really short fringe like this when I was 20 but since then I had only worn it long, just above the eyebrows. My hair grows fast so I am not overly concerned, but I just thought I'd show you that things don't always go according to plan!

  1. It does showcase your gorgeous eyebrows wonderfully though! Perhaps in a few days it'll feel better - it always takes my cuts about a week to settle.

  2. It is great that you posted about it. I am sure many fashion bloggers were too vain to do that.
It looks a bit funny but as you look pretty in general it does not matter.

It still looks good! And I bet it will grow quickly! I've made a few mistakes cutting my hair, and had some successes, it's a bit hit & miss for me!

I have so been there.. only mine wasn't as evenly cut as yours and rather than rejuvinated I looked like something the cat dragged in through the door (baldy looking patches and all).

you're lucky: you can have bangs... I've got insane curly hair, it doesn't work for me!
Anyway, I think you're looking great no matter what, because you're so stylish... give it time!

  11. Thank you for the encouraging words everyone. I am not overly worried as my hair grows real fast and I used to wear a fringe maybe even a bit shorter than this, but this one wasn't exactly planned!

Also, believe it or not, but I too have very curly hair. I straighten it when I wash it. I was afraid the first time I got a fringe, so the hairdresser did a straightening treatment on just the fringe and it stayed put. Since then, I never had to do it again somehow my fringe stays straight-ish now.

  12. I have also been here (still am!) I'm currently having to french plait my fringe every morning to hide the horror. Wish my hair would grow a bit faster.

  13. I have been there! In my case it was when I volunteered for hsair modelling so the guy had free reign to do what he wanted... and a mullet with an uber short fringe was seemingly what he wanted!!

However, I think it looks extremely cute on you, and not in the 5 year old way. But it'll be back to normal in about 2 weeks as you say, until then don't worry as you look fab!

  16. I cut my own fringe for the first time the other day and was petrified I'd mess it up, but it turned out ok.

I used to have a super short fringe when I was about 20 as well, I don't think it did anything for me though.

That cut looks cute on you though, even if it's not what you intended!
