What Monsieur Wore – Matches & J Brand (Part 2) #DenimSolved

Time for the final instalment in the Matches & J Brand denim challenge. Note the word challenge here because where the skinny indigo denim from Part 1 were second nature to me; the key piece in the second look is the exact opposite. The Tyler Slim Jean I’m wearing comes in a shade best described as ‘mustard’. I’m not even keen on mustard as a condiment. On top of that it needed to be a formal look,  which is something I simply don’t enjoy. But then it wouldn’t be a challenge if it was easy would it? The colour was a problem from the outset although in real life the jeans are more like chinos than mustard jeans, and I have to say I love the fit. I chose Pierre Hardy suede desert boots, because I’m obsessed with Pierre Hardy, I wonder if he’s reading…BONJOUR PIERRE! A white shirt seemed like a safe bet but Matches have loads of white shirts – on my shortlist was Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry; but in the end I went for E. Tautz. I’ve had dinner with Patrick Grant but I’ve never tried on any of his clothes – conundrum: solved. In fact the shirt fitted me like a bespoke shirt would. The double breasted pea coat is by Acne – the label we’re all addicted to (they should call themselves Cracne really) and a simple tote bag from Mismo.
