Midi is a walk in the park

I have the bad habit of shortening all my vintage dresses. I like to show my pins, I can’t help it. Thankfully, I am a very lazy tailor, so I never bother to cut the extra fabric, which means I can restore the original length of my dresses fairly easily.
This 50’s number is one of my favourite dresses, I found it on eBay a few years ago and wore it at its original midi length for a while before shortening it. I love the look of it when it is well above the knee, it turns it into a little girl dress, or a bag of allsorts!

Looking like a crazy cat lady or a giant child seems to become a habit of mine…

I’ve been craving some new clothes recently, without really wanting to spend to buy any till I manage to shift all the stuff I am not wearing. When that happens, I just take a long hard look at my clothes and pick something to alter slightly – this dress was the quickest fix.

Despite being a mini freak, I am really enjoying the midi length, especially in the Summer as it makes sitting in the grass (or on the bus) a more pleasant experience (no ants in the pants).
