Win a trip to Paris with Eurostar!

I was treated to a Little Break in Paris a few weeks ago, so there's no reason why one of you shouldn't be able to go as well!

Eurostar and We Are Social are teaming up with Mademoiselle Robot to offer one of you a pair of return tickets from London to Paris! Pretty sweet, non? That means you can bring your lover, your BFF, your mum, whoever you like with you. You can stay for as long as you like as well. The only restrictions are that you have to be over 18 and travel before the end of October (but that leaves you some time). You will be travelling on the Eurostar in Leisure Select, which means extra space, free food, glossy mags and champagne.

The Eiffel tower, the snow & me

To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment with a picture of what you think illustrate Parisian style best. It can be a Polyvore collage, a picture, a photo of you in a Parisian inspired outfit, anything you think embodies Parisian style.

First attempt at Tilt Shift

We Are Social will pick 5 entries and I will choose the winner amongst these.
You have until 6pm on Monday 31 August 2009 to enter!!!
Remember if you don't live in London, you can enter as long as you arrange your own travel to London.

A vos marques, prêts... PARTEZ!!!! GOOD LUCK!

  3. "I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little, if only out of politeness.
And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny".

  4. Been following quietly for a while and am loving your blog! Paris is very dear to my heart - it is where my husband took me to propose, and my brother, his partner and my beloved little niece all live there so it would be wonderful to get the chance to pay them a long overdue visit!

  7. ooh, how exciting! Personally, I love Clemence Poesy - I love how she manages to look chic yet feminine yet edgy yet pretty... There is a lovely montage of photos her here:

  9. This is a 1950s romper suit and bolero with Paris all over it. I've found them not long ago in a antique market while looking for bric-a- bracs, the lady who sold it to me said I should go to Paris wearing it. A beret cant be missing and I've found the card I'm holding on a side walk after the last meeting with my lover, it's a ten of hearts, we've been a part for many weeks, we hope to visit Paris once we'll be together again. L'AMOUR TOUJOUR L'AMOUR.

For me, style is beyond simple objects and fasion. It is more in a way of acting, and of expressing emotion. And I can't show this anywhere near as well as Doisneau did all those years ago. So, here's what Paris style is to me...

    Merci beaucoup Doisneau ;-)

  12. when parisian style comes to mind, i think of anna karina, france gall, françoise hardy and the yé-yé girls of the 60's. girls with full fringes (for some reason) and dark eyeliner. afternoon tea in ladurée. modern-day starlets, like marion cotillard and clémence poésy. the way eva green's cigarette hangs out of her mouth in 'the dreamers', and smoking in cafés. alphonse mucha's art nouveau paintings... and of course, chanel and coco chanel. it is graceful, timeless and effortless. to me, anything that evokes parisian style is quite striking or has the tendency to linger. below is a terribly made collage to illustrate my rambling. :)

    Mademoiselle Robot,
Your competition inspired me to spend my week off designing and making something that sums up Parisian style to me!
Paris and Parisians are notoriously exquisite and stylish.. but for me the most inspiring part of Parisian life is the night time. It is such a sexy place.
So i designed a play suit that captures this! It can be worn in so many different ways... but i have modeled it with 'a night out' and 'a night in' in mind!
The back of my Parisian Play suit is inspired by the shape of french knickers. The colours and stripes are throw backs to typical Parisian styles past!
Enough said about it.. i think i have been watching too much project runway.

bonjour! here's my take on parisian style:

a view from my ideal apartment, in a classic LBD:

taking le metro in a breton stripy knit

and my slightly tongue in cheek take on that iconic ad!

  16. For me, the two things that give Parisians such a distinctive style are their...

    attitude: http://i894.photobucket.com/albums/ac150/sohosiren/Picture0024-1.jpg

    and simplicity: http://i894.photobucket.com/albums/ac150/sohosiren/IMG01249.jpg

    Fingers crossed!
