MRtv – Winter Make-Up Survival Kit

About time I posted a new beauty video! I made this one as a few people have asked me on Instagram, twitter and Facebook what lipstick I currently use and also how I get my eyelashes so big. After the short video, you will find a list of the products I use everyday right now with links to places to get them online.
They are all around the £20 mark and while it is a little on the indulgent side, since you only really need 3 products and you will be wearing them everyday, I’d say it is £60 well spent. Also: Christmas is coming soon, so you can add them to your wish list!
I’ve raved about the YSL mascara previously, but I will say it again: it is the very best mascara if you are into full lashes without the spider legs effect. My eyelashes are quite long without make-up, but I find this really enhances them.
I wear Eve Lom’s Kiss Mix everyday as a base for my lipstick and to make sure my lips stay hydrated during the cold Winter months. It has a slight tingle to it and is quite sticky but dries quickly and leaves my lips really smooth.
For the lipstick, I alternate between DuWop’s Private Red and Chantecaille’s Lip Chic in Zinnia. I’d say I mostly wear the red though – you can’t beat a red lip. DuWop’s selling point is that the lipstick is supposed to change colour to adapt to your skin tone… after making a few friends try it on, I can safely say it doesn’t really adapt to your skin tone, but it is a lovely shade of dark brick red that pretty much suits everyone. My advice with Private Red is to apply it then blot it loads and reapply + re-blot until it is almost matte. This way it will last much longer (and sometimes even through a whole dinner). If you apply it without blotting, it tends to run and doesn’t last much.
The Chantecaille lipstick in Zinnia is basically a nicer version of my natural lip colour and I wear it on the days I can’t be bothered with the upkeep of red lips. It stays on for hours too!
