Last year, shortly before we were granted our green card and therefore started packing up our life’s belongings into a crate with a big “Los Angeles” stamp on it, we travelled to Amsterdam for the very first time. Staying at the wonderful Pulitzer and wandering around the Dutch capital, it was quite hard not to fall for the seemingly relaxed and cosy lifestyle the city had to offer. There were talks of “if we don’t get our U.S. visa, we could always move to Amsterdam“. Fate decided otherwise, we received our visas and moved to L.A….
Had we moved to Amsterdam, I think I would have become a regular of FEST Amsterdam a design company founded in 2013 by Femke Furnée who wanted to create a place where people could find well designed furniture without the high-end prices. Now if only they shipped to Los Angeles!
