A few years ago I stumbled upon Baserange, a sustainable label founded by two women, one French and one Danish. I was immediately taken with their aesthetic and ethos. Since the first time I wrote about it in 2014, I have followed the label as it grew, seeing it pop up in my usual shopping haunts in London, Paris and Los Angeles.
The story gets better: in September 2016, I bumped into a super cool new European family in my building here in Silverlake. I get to know Marie and her kids, we share meals together and one day we finally talk about work… And I realise Marie is the Danish half of the Baserange girls. The world / the internet is a very small place indeed. So here I am, 3 years later, living down the corridor from Marie, still writing about her label and still loving what it stands for.
Living in Los Angeles, their pieces make even more sense and when the rain eventually stops, I am sure I will making space in my wardrobe for one of their jumpsuits, or perhaps some new trousers.
