I love a good micro trend and what could be more niche than Caravaggio prints? Well let’s make it slightly less niche and say Renaissance art prints, but nevertheless, niche just about covers it. As menswear goes the all over print is pretty daring, throw in the father of Baroque and you’re pushing the look to the very limit. But if you love something why not wear it? Better wearing art than a poo emoji. Kids eh?
Anyway, London’s very finest, Matthew Miller is championing Cravaggio, dragging the 16th Century master into the modern age and rendering it in such a way that it seems sublimely modern. Quite the feat. While the key piece from Millers AW16 collection will cost you a whopping £10,000 there are some cheaper options for those of us on more of a budget.
But the trend doesn’t stop there, Supreme, streetwear stalwarts and masters of the collab have teamed up with Undercover for some super fresh 400 year old designs. A walk round the National Gallery seems more like a browse round Dover Street Market and thats just fine by me.
