Asics x Slam Jam

Y’all know how much I love trainers right? In fact I like them so much
that some days I wish that I could wear more than one pair at a time. Short of popping some kicks on my hands and crawling around on all fours, trainers are really a one pair at a time kind of item. But a new collaboration from Asics might be about to change that.
They’ve teamed up with Slam Jam for a multimedia project that includes not just a new pair of Gel-Lyte IIIs, but also a 7″ vinyl record entitled ‘6THPRLLL’, produced by Khalab & DJ Hendrix. The shoe is a deliberately jarring mixture of colours and textures that should surprise Asics fans; with a degradé heel unit and sole, Slam Jam branding to the rear and contrasting laces, but I’m less interested in the shoes and more into the campaign imagery.
To celebrate the launch the two brands have concocted a shoot featuring some masks made entirely out of Asics. Looking like a cross between a Star Wars villain and an extra from Mad Max has never been more on trend. Finally I can wear a pair of trainers on my face as well as on my feet.
