Are we feeling the festive vibes yet? I’ve been super duper busy since I returned from France in September and somehow, December really crept up on me. Mini and I decorated the tree last week and now the house feels a little more festive (it also smells like a forest which is the most wonderful thing). I normally get so excited in the run-up to Christmas and my birthday, but this time I sort of just woke up to the magic of the holidays. I think it was my trip to Frankfurt last weekend that did the trick.
Frankfurt has one of the biggest Christmas Markets in Europe and we spent one Glühwein fuelled afternoon discovering every little nook and cranny of this giant festive village. If you live in London and have attended Winter Wonderland, imagine the Bavarian Village but a million times better. There is food everywhere (or am I programmed to mostly spot the food?), handmade ornaments, more food, trinkets, MORE food and everyone is merry and bright. The Christmas Market in Frankfurt started on November 27th and will be on until December 22nd, so if you want a little festive injection before the big event, I urge you to fly to Frankfurt asap, and if you can’t, there are smaller versions taking place in the UK, in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Edinburgh.
