Little by little, I am trying on all the denim on offer in London… I live in skinnies, with occasional steamy affairs with boyfriend jeans. I already found my perfect jeans, courtesy of , but I am always eager to try new cuts and washes. This is why last week I trotted to my nearest boutique in Westfield London to find out a little more about the brand I’d heard so much about.
Donna Ida started as your run of the mill high-end denim boutique, stocking all the premium denim labels we know and love alongside a selection of items from various designers to wear with your jeans. Both on and offline, she offers a great alteration service to make your jeans exactly how you want them – nothing like a gaping waistband or skinnies that aren’t skinny enough around the ankle. As if that wasn’t enough, Donna Ida then launched her own denim range, simply called “”, which is what I was invited to try on at the store.
The whole range is high-waisted, which is great news for me and for all those of you who either a) have had kids or b) don’t fancy showing their bum that much or c) all of the above. On a purely style-related note, tucking stuff in high-waisted jeans gives you instant street-cred. I mean look at how cool your mums were in the 80s, right? That’s street-cred right there. Joke aside, a high-waist adds a whole new vintage dimension to a boyfriend jean for example.
