I Love Food - Wolfgang Puck at the Hotel Bel Air

16.5.13

While I was staying at the Hotel Bel Air , it seemed a crime not to also give the Wolfgang Puck restaurant a whirl. I've been to The Cut in London for breakfast a couple times, so I knew I was going to love this one too. I am quite fond of Puck's mix of modern Californian, European and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant at the Bel Air - in true Los Angeles fashion - focuses on healthy eating, locally sourced products and a beautiful setting. The Chef's "Daily Favourites" are prepared according to the day's finds at the local farmer's market, giving this internationally acclaimed restaurant a real homely, family owned feel, which is a treat.

Since we stayed at the Bel Air during our family holiday, Mini got to enjoy the very well thought-out and delicious Kids menu which included a juicy NYC style hot dog and "the best fries in the world" according to Mini Robot herself. Needless to say, despite our deliciously decadent five course meal, we were both quite jealous.

After three mini-courses of canapés and various other treats from the Chef - how spoilt are we? - I couldn't even consider having a starter and so I ordered the Charcoal Grilled New York Sirloin Steak, (really tender, cooked to perfection and melts in the mouth, you know the type), while my husband devoured the Whole Roasted Jidori Chicken which apparently was also very tasty,  but I didn't have a chance to taste it as it was consumed in approximately the time it takes to say "would you like to try mine?".

I am not sure I even need to describe the cookies orgy we had for dessert, so perfectly gooey inside and crunchy outside I die a little every time I think about them. I think they must each contain about a million calories, but sometimes it just doesn't matter at all.

Traduction - Le restaurant de Wolfgang Puck a l'Hotel Bel Air mélange la cuisine Californienne moderne avec des influences Européennes et Méditerranéennes. Un délice.
