Monsieur Robot – Lee 101

Premium denim is an obvious response to the cheap european denim brands which have flooded our wardrobes recently. Not that I haven’t been party to that myself, but with fashion you get what you pay for. If you haven’t been in a Lee store for a while you should check it out, they’ve been up to some pretty interesting stuff. Designer collaborations and premium collections that incorporate self-referential designs that trade on Lee’s own rich history. To be honest I spend my whole life in jeans so there’s no reason to scrimp on that purchase – sadly due to my particularly shapely legs (thanks a lot, rugby) it’s nearly impossible for me to find jeans that fit well. I’m sure I’m not alone here.

Enter Lee 101, Lee’s premium selvage range crafted from denim sourced from the best Italian and Japanese mills. The AW12 collection is so nice I’ve pretty much pushed all my summer things to the back of the wardrobe with sheer excitement. For denim nerds there’s 23oz dry denim jean, which will blow your mind. My recommendation is the 101S, the cut is nigh on prefect, slim straight leg jeans that makes a prefect transition between skinny and relaxed fits. The Lee 101 collection comprises everything from leather jackets to cute denim bags and traditional Lee shirts in chambray and cord. I’ve never been so happy to say goodbye to summer…
