One thing I love to do when I am on holiday is to visit local brocantes in the hope of finding some forgotten treasures. Most of the time, said treasures are way to cumbersome to bring back with me to London – unless I walk back carrying my loot in a rucksack – but it doesn’t hurt to look, right? I live in the hope that one day I will find the discarded vintage Chanel bag. Welcome to my world of fantasy!
The latest brocante I visited was in La Romieu, a small town about 30mn drive from where I am staying. I am particularly fond of this town as it is nicknamed “La Ville des Chats” (literally Cat Town). It has cat statues everywhere, it is like being in a Miyazaki cartoon.
Traduction – Une des choses que j’adore faire en été c’est de visiter les brocantes des environs. Ce weekend j’étais à celle de La Romieu, surnommée la ville des chats, un petit village situé à une demi heure de ma maison de campagne.
