Last week, a good friend took me to the Michael Hoppen Gallery to see a few of Alex Prager‘s new photographs, from her “Week End” series.
“Week End” is the third show in a trilogy about Los Angeles’ strange perfection.
Prager is an American photographer born and based in Los Angeles. Her work is heavily influenced by David Lynch & Alfred Hitchcock and features doll-like women in highly staged photos. There is no telling when the scenes depicted take place as she creates a very clean vintage environment.
The extreme composition work that goes into each of her shots reminds me a lot of an early Cindy Sherman.
If you are in London and in the King’s Road area, I would strongly encourage you to go and have a peek at her photos. There aren’t many of them there, but it is worth a look.
